There has been a school in St Andrew's Parish since 1878; the original building now forms part of the Year 2 and Reception class provision. The building is well maintained with strong support from the London Diocesan Board for Schools and well managed finances.
The Governing Body that oversees the school is made up local people, parents, clergy and parishioners as well as staff of the school. They make sure that the school is well run and good teaching and standards of behaviour are maintained. The school is closely linked to the Parish; the school and parish try to work together in as many ways as possible. The school is made up of children from a very wide faith and cultural background, as is its staff. The school was very strongly praised for its worship during a recent Ofsted inspection and this is clear evidence of how well clergy and school work together to develop the spirituality of the children. Academically the school is improving, not only in the end of Key Stage tests but throughout the year groups. The school values good manners, good behaviour and caring for others.
The full National Curriculum is taught. The school has a particularly strong musical tradition; every child is taught in a general music lesson by a music specialist; the school also offers a wide range of instrumental tuition and has a 60 strong choir which regularly sings at church functions. The school has performed at Westminster City Hall, St Paul's Cathedral, Wembley Conference Centre and at the Millenium Dome.
TO ENROL YOUR CHILD at the school you will need to fill in an application form. This is available from the school office. You are welcome to make an appointment to view the school and meet the Head. The main entrance to the school is in Belton Road, just off High Road, Willesden, NW10.
Nursery and Reception places are offered in March each year so you should ensure that applications are made BY THE END OF FEBRUARY. Mid term places may be offered as and when a space occurs. Children living within the parish boundary are given priority.
