Hayward Windows at StA

The most modern stained glass in St Andrew's church is the series of lancet windows in the nave and at the western end of each aisle. The work of John Hayward F.M.G.P., they illustrate incidents in Christ's life and ministry and, in the west wall, the Annunciation and Pentecost.
The windows date from 1963.

The Pentecost window is signed by John Hayward and dated 19X63 in the lower righthand corner. Underneath the signature and date are the words of the second verse of the A & M Hymn 240 by George Herbert 1593 - 1632. "A man who looks on glass on it may stay his eye or if he pleaseth thru' it pass and then the heav'n espy - George Herbert."
